Eclipse Design Wall and Eclipse Prize Pack Giveaway

This entry is inspired by the Patchwork Times weekly Design Wall feature. Please visit her blog to be linked to some other wonderful blogs featuring design walls around the quilting world.....

I'll be at the movies tonight!  My friend, Dawn, and I are going to a midnight showing of Eclipse.  After months of waiting and sewing quilt blocks for The Twilight Quilters Coven Eclipse Quilt to help pass the time....okay,  infect my quilting with my Twilight obsession even more...I'm down to counting the hours until I get to see the movie....  (For the uninitiated, Eclipse is also a book in the Twilight series of books by Stephenie Meyer.)

Below is a slideshow of all of the blocks so far.  Each block features a scene from Eclipse. I've only completed half of the quilt blocks needed for the Eclipse Quilt.  I'm not going to stop until they are all done.  They will be on the design wall until the quilt is finished!

Eclipse Quilt, blocks completed as of 6/28

To celebrate the movie's release, I am hosting an Eclipse Swag Bag Give Away.

In honor of my quilting and Twilight passion, the Eclipse Swag Bag includes the After Hours Barn Raising Quilt Kit as featured at Connecting Threads that is made in Twilight colors--black, red, and white.

The kit includes the pattern and 7 1/4 yds of fabric which is enough to make the quilt top and binding.  (3 1/4 yds for the backing isn't included in the kit.  You will need to purchase this on your own.)

Eclipse Swag Bag also includes the Eclipse Movie Companion and the Eclipse Movie Score by Howard Shore.

Here's how you enter to win with up to 6 chances available:

  3. I think the Breaking Dawn quilt should have a block with feathers and a block with the house Edward and Bella stay at on Esmes island or maybe the view from the house.

  5. i've read all the Twilight books (or had them read to me while i stitched) ... you already know that i am not as into it as you are ... the blocks that you are piecing are so incredibly awesome! i posted about your giveaway on my blog and linked to here ... while i'm not a twi-hard, i AM a trekker ...... and i used to have a crush on Norm Abram (This Old House and New Yankee Workshop) - i had the opportunity to shake his hand once, but i was too overwhelmed to approach the booth he was manning - one of my kids had him sign the program for me ... dumb, huh?

have you planned blocks of an eclipse? kinda like your new moon blocks, Shannon, but with the eclipse phases instead of moon phases

  6. I have read all of the books (more than once) and I plan to see the movie.

I think there should be a block of Bella's engagement ring and the red blouse that Bella was going to wear to graduation (but is stolen by the new vampire for her scent).

As a crazy fan - well, I read the books out loud to my mother so I wouldn't have to feel guilty about reading them again while she did other stuff.

  13. some more thoughts on blocks - Jasper in his uniform (maybe with the 3 vampires) - Bella & Jacob in the sleeping bag with Edward next to them something with the Third Wife - and the yellow Porche for Alice babysitting Bella - and the stinking flames when the newborn vampires are burned - how Jacob (and the other werewolves) carry their clothes with them when they've transformed
