Bella and Edward Wedding Quilt Version 1: Some of the Particulars

Wedding Ring Quilt (no outside border) 42.426x42.426"

10" blocks with setting triangles

Paper Pieced

I drafted the blocks and quilt in EQ7.  I drafted the blocks with their setting triangles as my shortcut.  I needed the blocks to finish at 10" to match the setting Ribbon blocks.  As a result the block parts, like the HSTs, are an odd size.  They are a touch over 1 3/8" finished.  Paper piecing the block seemed to be the easiest and accurate way to insure that the blocks finished at 10".  I also think that it's an easier way to complete a block that has so many HST's.

I strongly recommend sewing the block sections together with a scant 1/4" seam.  (I moved my needle over one right on my sewing machine.)

The blocks:

I'm going to use batiks for my quilt.  As drawn, the background fabric is the same throughtout.  I'm not sure if I will have enough of the fabric I have.  I may have to use a different background fabric for the outside background fabric (setting triangles and  half of the ribbon blocks) because I bought all my quilt shop had.  I still think I will have an outside border, too.  I'm not sure about yardage yet.
