A Case for Paper Piecing

I get a little miffed when I hear someone say that they don't like paper piecing.....

I love it!

Piecing the Wedding Ring blocks have been so easy.  (I had one snafu tonight, but that was because I forgot to check No Scaling when printing a pattern this afternoon.  I'm such an idiot sometimes.  Fortunately enough, I only used one section of one block I printed.  The section finished too small.)  I almost got four blocks completely pieced in one afternoon.  If I hadn't had to fix the one section because of my printing error, feed the family, and do some laundry....

I can't imagine piecing these blocks the traditional way.  I can't imagine piecing all those HSTs individually.  So I have to rip some paper biggie!

Yes, that's the complaint I hear the most--what a pain in the butt ripping paper off is.  There are so many benefits to paper piecing blocks, though, that I think should outweigh any annoyance with this step.

I would probably never work on the Double Wedding Ring Version 2 of the Bella and Edward Wedding Quilt if I hadn't converted the block into a paper piecing pattern.  Instructions and file to be posted this week.....

I've decided that my quilt for the  Wedding Ring version of the quilt has to be bigger so I will be piecing one more B block and two more modified A blocks.

I've found another Breaking Dawn Quilt block that I want to make--paper pieced, of course!.  Unfortunately, the block pattern is no longer available as far as I can see--I've searched everywhere.  (Leo by Veronica Jones)  I think I'm going to have to get creative and draft something similar.
