Fabric Portraits

I will not start another project.....I will not start another project....I will not start another project....

Maybe if I write it 100 times I will convince myself!

I used a bit of retail therapy to buy something I've wanted for a long time.  I've had my eye on Maria Elkins's Making Faces DVD for-ev-er.  I suppose if one needs a bit of retail therapy, then one should buy something one has been needing wanting for a long time.  After I gave up on the Realistic Fabric Portrait (Marilyn Belford) project because of all its challenges and my fear, I came upon other methods.  I purchased the download of the program last Friday and watched Part I. (A You Tube preview....)

I think the reason that I think that I could do at least a beginner fabric portrait is because you only have to use four fabrics.  I'd like to have Photoshop Elements, but for now I've been use some photo editing freeware, like pixlr, to experiment.  Maria makes it looks so easy, but I'm sure it's not.  I sure would like to have a go, though.

I haven't even watched the other parts, but I'm sure they'll be just as helpful.  I'm resisting because I don't want to be tempted.
