Giveaway Day 2011: Overwhelming Response

I'd like to thank everyone who has visited my blog the past couple of days to enter my Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day 2011.  I have enjoyed reading each and every one of your comments.  I hope to be able to reply to all of them even in some fashion.  I really don't know how I'm going to be able to pick a winner.....there are so many good answers that I like.  I may have to call in reinforcements.  I may have to give away some FQs for honorable mention prizes.

I'm having a tremendous amount of fun with this giveaway, too!  I can't tell you how grateful I am that Sew Mama Sew hosted it.  I hope to have time to make the rounds and participate.  Maybe I could be a winner?!

Most people wouldn't choose to be a vampire from the comments so far.  I can understand all points of view and reasoning.  I will hold off on sharing my answer until the end of the contest.  Team Edward or Team Jacob...Team Switzerland?  I have a choice for that, too.  Think Eclipse, the movie and Bella's speech at the end....

There is still time to enter.  The contest runs until December 16, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. PST.

I'm still working on Anubis.  I cleaned the pattern up by hand some yesterday afternoon.  The pattern is complicated.  It still needs work.  I hate to give up detail as I've said.  I design with myself in mind and I would never design anything or finalize a pattern that I didn't think I could piece.  I look at this block and I know it's going to be tough and maybe impossible at 6 inches.

I made a few cosmetic changes.  The end symbol of the staff is a bit thicker.  The ears are more alike.  I tweaked the face a bit for piecability.  I changed it's waist a bit too for piecability reasons.  I've done some cropping of the block, too.  The 1/4-1/2" of background I've cropped means that the Anubis (and it's parts) will be a little bigger.  My last adjustment was to crop away the staff on the right side.  I still think it looks fierce!

Ha!  My best quilting and Twiight friend, Lydia, pointed out that I left off his anklet.  I totally notice that now and miss it.  I'll have to fix it in the final version.

****I may be on a hiatus for a couple of days.  I've heard of a family in need and I'm going to try to make a Christmas quilt for the family.  It won't be Twilight-themed....I haven't focused on much else of late.  I hope I remember how to sew.  Wish me luck.  Merry Christmas!!!!
