Giveaway Day 2011: Twilight Quilters Coven Contribution

This giveaway is closed....winner to be announced very soon! Thank you to all who participated and were so thoughtful answering my questions. I'm going to have a very hard time picking a winner.

Shannon, 12/16/11

Winners:

Candid Paprazzi for Jennie.

Paper Piecing Prize Pack for pippablue.

You found me!  No matter the reason, perhaps just for the giveaway or because you were intrigued by my blog name, I'm glad you did.  I'd like to thank Sew Mama Sew for hosting Giveaway Day 2011 and providing me with the opportunity to share my blog with the quilting world.

A little about me.....  I'm a huge Twilight fan and a quilter.  Anyone who devotes an entire blog to Twilight and quilting might seem a little strange, but I really don't mind if anyone thinks that.  Fans around the world have found ways to express their love for the books through many creative endeavors.  I'm a quilter at heart so that is my chosen medium.

One of my happiest quilting moments was making the award-winnging quilt for Twilight author, Stephenie Meyer, with another quilting group that was gifted and accepted by Stephenie in January 2010.  The quilt design got it's start with my suggestion of a center medallion featuring all four book cover elements surrounded by individual blocks featuring important Twilight themes or moments.  Stephenie Meyer was so thankful that she sent an autographed deluxe edition of New Moon to all the participants and even discussed the quilt in an interview!

Twifans.com: (LTT and Twifans) ask Stephenie Meyer TwiMerch and TwiRoom by twifans

I share this, not to earn bragging rights, but to say to anyone:  Go For It!  If you are a fan, then show it.  Make a quilt for yourself, your favorite fan, or even an author, etc......  (I also know of local quilter at one of my favorite quilt shops who made a quilt for Jay Leno.  She and her husband were invited to a show to sit in the front row and meet Jay!)

My heart was warmed over when a T-Shirt quilt was featured in Eclipse, the movie.  (It showed up again in Breaking Dawn, the movie.)  The quilt wasn't in the books, but written as a movie element by screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg.  Bella's mom gives the quilt to her as a graduation gift for her to take to college to keep her warm in Alaska--little did she know that Bella had made another vampire decision instead.  Renee, Bella's mom, made the quilt of all their trip T-shirts.  I made my own version.  There is a featurette on the Eclipse DVD that details how the movie quilt was made.

Here is a compilation of screen captures from the Eclipse dvd feature about Bella's T-Shirt Quilt.

I'm currently enjoying the challenges of designing my own quilts and Twilight paper piecing patterns.  I love to paper piece and I always think of that method before any other. I design for myself in mind, but it's just as easy to make the patterns available.  I've started hosting the patterns on a separate site, Twilight Quilt Patterns.

Now, to the reason you are here......  Here are the items in my giveaways:

1)

Candid Paparazzi Fat Quarter Bundle (10 FQs)

****In honor of the Twilight colors, a fat quarter bundle of 10 black, white, and red fabrics.

2)

****And, because I'd like to tempt you to paper piece....

50 Little Paper-Pieced Blocks by Carol Doak, Add-Enough Ruler, and Add-a-Quarter Ruler

For the Candid Paparazzi FQ Bundle, please answer this question:

If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire?  Why or why not?

For the Paper Piecer's Bundle, please answer this question:

Are you Team Edward, Team Jacob, or Team Switzerland?  Why?

(Yes, a bit of research may be required if you're not familiar with Twilight.....  Here is an interesting debate!)

My Giveaway Day 2011 rules:

  •  International entries accepted

  • You may answer both questions and, conceivably, win both prizes.

  • I will choose my favorite answers to the questions and award the prizes respectively.

  • Giveaway open until December 16, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. PST as required by the Giveaway Day rules.

  • Winners will be emailed by end of day December 18, 2011 and the winner noted in a post.  (If you are a no-reply commentor, then please email thetwilighterquilterscoven@gmail.com separately in addition to your comment.)

 Thank you!  Shannon

A preview of my next block for the Breaking Dawn quilt.  A fierce looking (I hope) Anubis holding an Ankh staff for the Egyptian Coven.  (For more info on the significance of the Egyptian Coven in the Twilight world.... jump here.)

  1. I don't think that I would take that opportunity because family wouldn't be included. On the other hand, I would love to be this age forever and be able to play with my great-grandchildren.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I am Team Jacob. As to the reason, it is my granddaughter's team.

    ReplyDelete
  3. If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

Yes. Who wouldn't want to be eternally beautiful, strong and lithe - able to explore the forest and the world at your hearts desire? Imagine how many quilts you could get done having vampire speed! <3

Are you Team Edward, Team Jacob, or Team Switzerland? Why?
Team Edward - Anyone that can handle being in love with an awkward, clumsy girl is a winner in my book.

  4. If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

Yes, I would. To live a thousand lives? I think it would be worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  5. If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

No. not because I dont love that, but because I love my husband and I want to grow old with him, watch our children and grandchildren grow and call me nana..

Are you Team Edward, Team Jacob, or Team Switzerland? Why?
Team Edward all the way. Learning to resist the temptation right in front of you for the taking.. i can see that takes some guts.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I wouldn't be a vampire because I hate the taste of blood!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I would not become a Vampire because I wouldn't want to see everyone I love grow old and die. But I would be mad at myself cause I would love to have vampire powers!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. And who's team am I on??? Jacob, cause even though he is young enough to be my son, he is still hot.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I don't think I would become a vampire. It would be to hard to watch the ones you love move on without you

    ReplyDelete
  10. Team Edward. It's the hopeless romantic in me :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. No, I wouldn't want to be a vampire, outliving my acquaintances. I have a fear of being the last one left of my friends! Plus the whole blood thing; those stains are hard to remove!

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  12. No, I wouldn't want to outlive everyone I love.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Silly question B. Team Edward, of course. Edward is a man; Jacob is a boy.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I would like to be a vampire: only by living forever will I be able to finish all the quilty projects that I have committed to/bought the fabric for/fallen in love with!
I love this fabric - I haven't seen it before - red white and black is a fabulous combination! Thanks for offering the giveaway.

  15. It all depends if my hubby could be a vampire too... but probably not. While the idea of insane model beautiness is very tempting, and being able to run like the wind and climb trees like a monkey is inviting, I just think I'd miss chocolate and food WAY too much.

    ReplyDelete
  16. As far as "team edward" or "team jacob" - if we're talking about the actors in the movies, Taylor Lautner is so much hotter than Rob Pattinson. But, as far as the books go, I'm just a sucker for Edward. He's all gentleman like, just like my sweet hubby. Plus he's got some serious cash... lol.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I laughed so much when I saw your first question. NO WAY could I be a vampire I pass out at the sight of blood!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

I don't think so. I'd make the crappiest vampire ever, I just love to go out and lay in the sun.

    ReplyDelete
  19. lol. I would LOVE to be a vampire... but I think I'd get bored after a time... but imagine watching that much history of the world go by!!

    <3

Thank you for the opportunity to win your giveaway! Happy Holidays to you and your family <3 xo

  21. I'm Team Switzerland because I haven't read the books. Thanks for the giveaway! robyn(dot)geddes(at)gmail(dot)com

  22. No I would not want to be a vampire. I'm not into biting people's dirty necks.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think I'm missing out on an inside joke with the 2nd question, but I'm going with Team Switzerland because I like the country.

    ReplyDelete
  24. No not a vampire! all that blood ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'd be Team Switzerland because Switzerland is neutral right??

    ReplyDelete
  26. I would not chose to be a vampire b/c I just wouldn't want to live forever. Without death, life just isn't precious.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Would I become a vampire?

I think at this point in my life I would choose to be a vampire. I still have alot of living and things I want to get done. Sewing, quilting, and more sewing and quilting not to mention the lightning speed with which they would get done, and the pain in my knees would be GONE!

    I am Team Edward.

What a man!, what a true love! Always in control of every situation!

    Shannon...Anubis absolutely Rocks!
    can't wait to make him!

    ReplyDelete
  28. If my husband and kids could join me in iternal life then of course I would be a vampire but if they couldnt then I would turn it all down in a heart beat. My family is so important to me.

I am team Switzerland. The reason for my choice is I am team Edward in Twilight, and Eclipse and team Jacob in New Moon and both teams in Breaking Dawn so I might as well be Switzerland.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't think I would become a vampire if given the choice. I wouldn't want to watch all of my family and friends die while I lived on and on. That, and the taste of blood disgusts me!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm team Jacob. Bella wouldn't have had to change herself or say goodbye to her family to be with him. Plus, he's got a killer body! As much as I like Edward, I just couldn't snuggle up to a cold guy all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Very cool patterns!! I don't think I could be a vampire unless a truly stunning man came along and swept me away!!
    thanks

    ReplyDelete
  32. Team Switzerland because you can have it all
    thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't think I would. I don't think I would want to live forever and see everyone I love die.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would not become a vampire because I would outlive everyone I loved unless I turned them too. Though, I COULD get a lot done if I never had to sleep!LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Okay, before Taylor Lautner was legal, I was totally Team Edward because it skeeved me out that he was so young and a sex symbol. Now, I'm totally Switzerland, and possibly Team Threesome (wildly inappropriate,LOL, sorry)! Thanks for the opportunity to win.

    ReplyDelete
  36. never would I choose to be a vampire--I don't want to live in this sinful world/body forever! I have a much better promise of eternal life after this earthly death--Christ is my lord and savior!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would not like to become a vampire because for more than 20 years I have worked with blood in medical laboratories and I am sick of it. I also like my life as it is. Thanks for the give away

    ReplyDelete
  38. I would say Yes. I think vampires can be sexy.

    ReplyDelete
  39. No way would I want to become a vampire. Never. Why? Because I was hospitalized and close to death a few years ago, and there was a ton of blood loss. After much ado (chest tubes, transfusions, etc.) Now any time I smell (or even think of) blood, I feel sick.

    ReplyDelete
  40. A vampire's 'life' is not for me.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Team Jacob. I read the books first and just fell in love with him. Edward's too perfect and I just dont like perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Team Edward. He was her first love and sometimes danger can be worth the payoff

    ReplyDelete
  43. I couldn't become a vampire, it would be too hard to leave my family behind. Although Edward would be quite hard to resist

    ReplyDelete
  44. I need to stay human to be with the kiddos. I would like time to slow down though...

I am Team Jacob....that boy is HOT!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I would def choose to become a vampire (unless my other option is Jacob). I would love to have all the time in the world and all the special abilities at my disposal.

  46. I am Team Jacob. Big time! If I were a younger woman, I think I would stalk him...

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh, I'm sure this won't be the winning answer: I would never choose to become a vampire. It is against the natural order of things. I don't believe in romanticizing the undead. "Undead" is a punishment, a curse, a loss of eternal rest and peace; and lastly, well, it's fiction, after all.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I wouldn't want to be a vampire because I wouldn't want to live forever and not be with the people I love.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I wouldn't want to because I can't stand seeing blood.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I would have to say no to being a vampire because to be honest, it's hard enough getting through this life... I would hate it to last forever lol

    ReplyDelete
  51. I am Team Edward only because I had my own Edward and know how hard it can be to love another... I also had a Jacob and am forever blessed for that friendship

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think I'd be a vampire - I'd love to be able to spend many years with my family and not worry about death

    ReplyDelete
  53. I would not want to be a vampire because I would not want to live forever - I like the life I have and I would not change the enjoyable cycle.
Team Switzerland - they are both caring, well meaning characters - it's tough not to like people who love so openly. :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. I don't think I would because I would get bored eventually lol.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I am team Edward because he is so hot.

    ReplyDelete
  56. If the opportunity presented itself to become a vampire, I would not choose that path. The first dilemma that I'd run into is that I have 8 and 10 year old daughters whom I love very much, and it would break my heart to watch them age and die and have to go on without them (and I am SO not going to go the Claudia from Interview With a Vampire route!). The second issue is that vampire covers a very broad spectrum of symptoms and situations. Each book I read tends to have vampires that are a bit different in terms of tolerance to sunlight, aging, physiological makeup, etc. and while becoming a vampire in the Twilight universe would be more tolerable than say a vampire in the David Wellington Laura Caxton series universe, I would still miss my girls. There is also a major danger element involved when the possibility of being hunted/persecuted/discovered is introduced. It's also difficult to imagine having to move every 10 or so years in order to not have to explain why I never age. As you can see, I've thought about this alot. Thanks for the giveaway and for the though-provoking question.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I wouldn't become a vampire. I don't want to have to out live everyone I love. Besides I hate being cold.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Team Edward. I liked his character in the books much better than I did Jacob.

    ReplyDelete
  59. i would not want to be a vampire. i would hate being a vegetarian vamp or killing people. even if they "deserved" it. the intrigue of power and immortality almost swirls me away in the fantasy, but in reality, my cherished loved ones would pass away before my eyes. i can hardly handle when my dog died.

as for edward or jacob.... really the two battles.... i think jacob. he is so true for the tradition, and well, he's right about vampires being "EVIL!!!" also, it would be nice to go out during the day without sparkling, and if he could be a loveable fuzzy werewolf, how cuddly that would be. a steely cold vampire isn't nearly as cuddly.
sorry for the novel, but i had to actually answer....

  60. No vampires for me. Age is a beautiful thing. I would rather look as old and deserving of my very handsome husband who is suited well my age. I love watching him grow older. What a shame it would be if I was perpetually young.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I would go vampire, why not, they are cool and with all that time on my hands I might be able to get through all my stash!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I would go team Jacob just because I like the name, I have never seen twilight, we don't get it here.... yet...

    ReplyDelete
  63. No I don't think I would as it would mean a lonely eternal life

    ReplyDelete
  64. Now you forgot about team Stefan or Team Damon...lol However I would go for Team Edward

    ReplyDelete
  65. I would love to be able to live 500 years or so and study all the languages, philosophies etc., but than on the other hand, I am a vegetarian since child age. I can not harm any animal or person, so how would I feed? Blood bank bags probably :)

As for question two, team Edward of course!

    ReplyDelete
  66. In my situation I couldn't become a Vampire unless it was the only way to stay here with my Hubby and Daughter ie life threatening illness. Otherwise they and the rest of my family are to precious to risk or to be away from.
Though if it was the sparkly kind not the burn in the sun kind ... : )

    ReplyDelete
  67. As for the Edward Jacob debate all I can say is read the ending - Jacob isn't even in the race, he wants to wait till their baby grows up. He will be Bella's son in law. No competition.
If I was choosing one of them for me not Bella though I would be almost as torn as Bella. Edward is so old fashioned and worldly and he plays the piano but I am not that much of a Robert Pattinson Fan (the one in my head when I read the book was way hotter). Jacob is fun and safe and Taylor Lautner is (if it is possible) hotter than I had imagined Jacob.
Just as well I am married and don't have to choose.

BTW Hubby says he is team Keifer (he doesn't like vampires that sparkle).

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm very freaked out by blood, so I'd have to say no to the vampire option. Thanks for a fun giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm a Team Edward - he's just gorgeous! Thanks again for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'm team edward :) prefer vampires :)

    I couldn't become a vampire becaus I don't want to live forever...
To know that we don't last forever is the thing that makes us appreciate every second of this life :9

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think I would pass because of the emotional and physical struggle involved with bringing someone else into the fold. Edward has such a horrible time accepting that Bella truly wants to become a vampire as well.
In the same vein (pardon the pun), I don't think I would be able to handle repeatedly losing the people I love to death.
Oh, and the blood. Let's just leave that one as is.
I'd much rather be a werewolf, but have a bit self control (no attacking people!); just running through nature and eating what I want!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I would definitely not become a vampire as the sight of blood makes me quesy - not a good trait in a vampire! my husband would LOVE to be a vampire though, he's always wanted to be one!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Team Edward of course! I mean, come on, who wouldn't! ;0)

    ReplyDelete
  74. I would become a vampire. For me it would be the opportunity to learn for ever! I would be able to master so many different skills and dedicate the time to all of them! I could mast quilting, Master lacemaking, master cooking, master everything and a bunch of PhD's!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I would be for Team Edward because he made me cry in Book 2!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I can't say I am a fan of Edward or Jacob. I am a fan of love. I know both of them have very strong feelings for Bella.

    ReplyDelete
  77. No I wouldn't choose to be a vampire. Life was meant to be lived once and to the fullest.

    ReplyDelete
  78. If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

Answer - No....they freak me out!

    ReplyDelete
  79. no, i woudn't become a vampire... i just couldn't handle watching family/friends grow old and die. i think it would be very lonely. gooberific @ yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  80. i am definitely team Jacob... i need me a warm body ;) and it's a chance at a more normal life! gooberific @ yahoo.com

  81. I wouldn't become a vampire if I had the choice. I'd seriously consider it, of course, but I already know what I'd pick. Mainly for 2 reasons:

    1) Drinking blood sounds nasty. I'm a big texture person, and I can't handle that.

    2) I wouldn't want to live forever. That would be exhausting, emotionally.

  82. No, I would not be a vampire regardless. I am a Christian. I am washed from my sins by the blood of Christ, his death and resurrection.

    God bless you!

  83. I would become a vampire only if my family could become one too...and hopefully those pesky Volturi wouldn't come find us!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Nope, I think one life is enough. But I do get a kick out of the books. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  85. You like Twilight? I couldn't tell. :D I don't know if I could be a vampire...I am a vegetarian! Seriously, I have actually thought about this alot because I love old vampire...everything. I think I would like to have been one when I was in my early 20's because I could always be the party age. But now I don't know that I want to live forever. I kind of like my life and finding out the changes that happen the older I get.

    ReplyDelete
  86. After my last answer you think I would be team Edward. I am for Bella but for me I would want Jacob...cause my feet get cold and I would need a warm body to put them on at night.

    ReplyDelete
  87. vampire - yes! purely for the esthetics. they always dress so elegantly.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Team Jacob! What a cool website, I love twilight too! I have recently started paperpiecing so would be thrilled to win this :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. team switzerland. although i've seen the movies, i haven't decided who i like better. it's nice just to be along for the ride.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I don't think I would want to become a vampire. It doesn't seem like a great thing to live forever to me!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. I have seen all the movies that have been on DVD and I don't know who I would vote for... I love Edward because of how much he loves Bella, but Jacob is so loyal so I guess I am Switzerland.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Uh, I can't think of a reason TO be a vampire... The only thing they sort of having going for them is immortality, and that doesn't really seem all that appealing.
I'm not a big Twilight fan, so I can't pick a team. In fact, I don't think Bella deserves either of those guys. I don't understand why they fawn on her so much when she seems quite flighty and indecisive...

    ReplyDelete
  93. I love the Twilight movies and quilt too! I would definitely become a vampire. I could learn so many new things-especially new languages and musical instruments. Thanks for an interesting giveaway question!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'd become a vampire if the opportunity presented itself. I mean why not?

    ReplyDelete
  95. No vampireness for me! christina112358 at gmail dot com

    ReplyDelete
  96. I wouldn't want to be a vampire. The thought of needing blood to live is disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I am Team Edward because he is the one I know about.

    ReplyDelete
  98. If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

No - Not to watch those I love die. Eternal life is probably not the gift that it seems. Life would get boring.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I don't think I would make a very good vampire. I love the sunshine, I like the warmth of a little tan, and I don't think I'd like the taste of blood.

    ReplyDelete
  100. While I am intrigued by the thought of living forever with exquisite beauty and super human strength, I do not believe I would choose to be a vampire. I want to live my life to the fullest, and every good thing needs an end.

    j_poshusta@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  101. Oh, I am definitely team Edward. Though I do not want to be a vampire myself, it doesn't mean that I can't enjoy me some vampire eye-candy!

    j_poshusta@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  102. No to the vampire - immortality is not that appealing to me.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Congratulations on your award for your quilt. It is beautiful.

I would not want to be a vampire as I like to sleep at night when they wander.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Team Jacob. He comes across as so much more genuine.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Team Edward cause that's one of my son's names.

    ReplyDelete
  106. 1) Not, becouse I'm a christian. Thanks for the chance to win:)

    ReplyDelete
  107. Team Jacob!! I have a soft spot for warm hairy things (like my DH)!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. I think I'd have to pass on being a vampire. I think after a few 100 years I'd probably have read everything, attended school too many times and get a little bored. Of course I may need all that time just to knit through my yarn stash and put a dent in my fabric.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I'll pass on being a vampire. It's too hard losing family members (lost 4 in the past 4 years).

I'm Team Ellen (you'll get it if you saw the entire Twilight cast on the Ellen Show)

    ReplyDelete
  110. I would not become a vampire, especially because I'm the most squeamish person - even if I lived like the Cullens, I don't think I would EVER be okay drinking animal blood. It's blood no matter what =/

I always say I'm team Edward book (because I'm a romantic and Jacob makes me angry in the story), and Team Jacob movie (abs). :)

    ReplyDelete
  111. I wouldn't take the opportunity; I wouldn't want to live forever if those I love weren't able to do so also. Thanks for the chance at your giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I am team Edward...book only. I haven't seen the movies to see if he is portrayed differently there. Who can resisit the combo of cash and perfect gentleman? Thanks for the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  113. What a great giveaway! If I had the choice, I don't think I'd choose to be a vampire. Sometimes, living one brief life at a time is enough!

  114. Heck yah I would! I would love to have the speed, strength, and the perfect looks. Might be a long existence, but I could entertain myself. Maybe I would actually finish all the projects I have on my list!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Team Edward all the way! I think Jacob needs to keep his shirt on. It annoys me he is always half naked and I usually wouldn't say something like that! Maybe if he were older or I was younger it would be okay, but it just seems a bit creepy since it is a "teen" story and I'm old.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I guess team switzerland. I've never seen the movies or read the books. In general, I like vampires though.

  117. I'm a little bit ambivalent about whether I'd want to be a vampire. I certainly like the idea of not aging, but I don't think I'd have Edward's self-control so I'd choose not to be a vampire. But I do have to applaud Bella's courage.

Edward's too cold. I'm team Jacob.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I would not choose to be a vampire. I personally do not want to live forever, I love the sunlight, and I don't really have a blood-thirsty spirit. :)

    ReplyDelete
  119. I guess I am Team Switzerland, not because I don't care, but because I think Jacob and Edward are both good and bad for Bella.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I think I would become a vampire, I would love to be able to study life, countries etc...learn new skills and build a fabulous fabric stash then sew to my hearts content :)

    ReplyDelete
  121. I think i would, one of the biggest things I say is that I don't ever have enough time..and being a vampire would most certainly give me enough time! LOL! froggygirldesigns at gmail dot com

    ReplyDelete
  122. And I'd say I'm Team Jacob, except he imprinted on the baby..soooo that wouldn't work out so well lol. froggygirldesigns at gmail dot com

  123. I've always thought that becoming a vampire would be very lonely, plus I can't get into the idea of tasting blood! So no everlasting life and youth for me.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Interesting debate about teams. I would have to pick JACOB, because I like werewolves more than vampires, just on principle. But I haven't watched Twilight.
However, I totally love your site, and the chance this Giveaway has given me to find it. I love it that you are so into the Twilight story you have made your own patterns for quilts for it, and it has obviously fueled a true passion for you! And your designs are fab!

  125. I definitely wouldn't become a vampire. I like who I am as I grow older and just now at 40 have finally started to believe that death due to age will be much like going to bed and snuggling down to sleep after a very very very long day. That is something I enjoy, and I don't think death will be any different.

    ReplyDelete
  126. no- I'm not into pain, so I wouldn't want to have to go through "the change."

    ReplyDelete
  127. No, because you never know what you're going to want in "forever."

    ReplyDelete
  128. No, I wouldn't like to be around myself!

    ReplyDelete
  129. Hmmm. I think i would chose to stay human because i want to see al my loves..
    No team at all.

    ReplyDelete
  130. That's a tough question. One one hand, I want to say no because who would want to go through the pain of watching everyone you loved die and there is only so much you can do to keep you entertained for an eternity. However, if I had a vampire mate and could experience eternity with him, travelling the world, endless supply of money, while having cool powers (hopefully one better than Bella's) then I might say yes. I guess that isn't really an answer is it? If you throw in the Vampire Diaries' vamp's power of compulsion and the non-sparkling thing, then I would say yes!

  131. When I read the books the first time I was team Edward. He just seemed perfect for Bella, and Jacob seemed a better friend. However, after watching Eclipse and reading the books a second time I was a bit torn. Team Jacob makes some valid points. I wasn't a fan of the fourth book and the whole Nessie thing, so I tend to just ignore that part of the story, lol. So, ignoring that they did have a kid in the end, if Bella had chosen Jacob she could have had kids, see her family, and be warm (I'd rather be warm than cold) and not worry about the whole blood-lust thing. So, I guess I'm team Switzerland.

However, I love Jasper and Alice. Their love story just seems timeless and so sweet. They are perfect for each other :)

  132. I would rather become a skinwalker or shapeshifter rather than a vampire because I love animals.

I've read all the books and would say that I like Jacob better and was satisfied with the way things ended but am hoping to hear the rest of the story about him and you know who.

I'm entering this because my mom loves the colors and to paper-piece but she is in the hospital this year and so I am entering on her behalf. Thanks so much.

  137. would i become a vampire? yes, easily. I wouldn't want my family with me though because it's a personal decision. I am very happy by myself and so I think I would get along fine and enjoy the changes that only time can bring.

  143. If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

Perhaps, it depends on the the type of vampire. If I was going to be stuck as a Ann Rice style vampire- no way, that would not be a fun immortality. The scary Doctor Who 'vampires' no. But a Twilight vampire would be fun. Or a Buffy vampire.

Thanks for a lovely giveaway. kcarlson1152[at]hotmail.com

  147. If the opportunity presented itself, would you you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

No, I'm just not into the vampire scene.

    ReplyDelete
  148. OH, I think there are pros and cons for becoming a vampire. Ultimately I would choose not to. I would not want to watch my family and friends die. Thanks for the opportunity!!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Team Switzerland...LOL...Thanks again for the opportunity!

    ReplyDelete
  150. Team Jacob because I don't find Edward attractive in the slightest.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I think it would be sad to be a vampire. Just as the elves in Lord of the Rings - it's painful when you live and all that you love die.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I do not think I would take the vampire opportunity because I do not want to outlive all of my loved ones. That is my biggest fear in life! :) Thank you for the chance to win.

  153. I am Team Jacob if we are talking to movies, but Team Edward if we are talking the books. The Edward in my mind is infinitely better than the Edward of the screen! :) Thanks for the great giveaway... and I will be following your blog for sure. :)

  157. I'm a total Team Jacob fan. I just adore his personality and "dog-like" tendencies. He's protective, yet sweet and aggressive yet gentle. A perfect guy to bring home to meet your parents.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Well of course I would become a vampire, the Twilight kind that is. I coould stop gaing weight and would be able to stay forever young so my body would quite protesting trying to keep up with my mind

    ReplyDelete
  165. Team Edward - he is a gentleman!

    ReplyDelete

  168. I would absolutely like to be a vampire! How else will I ever finish all my WIPs and UFOs and read all the books I want to read. Plus I'm already a night owl so that whole aversion to sunlight wouldn't bother me at all! Also I could travel at lightning fast speed without every worrying about those pesky speeding tickets. So yes, sign me up!

    ReplyDelete
  169. I don't think I would become a vampire because I am a vegetarian and that would be awkward. But I sure like reading vampire books and watching vampire movies!

  171. Would I be a vampire? No, I don't think so. I wouldn't like to outlive my family.

And, they don't eat, do they? I don't think I could give up coffee and chocolate. :D

    ReplyDelete
  172. I would not become a vampire. The blood would creep me out. And the person before me - not giving up coffee. thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  173. I guess the question of whether to become a vampire would depend on the situation. If in becoming a vampire, I would have to leave my loving husband behind, NO WAY! But if it was him turning me, Yes. To spend eternity with the one I love.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I have three kids, so no I wouldn't want to be a vampire. Although, being super human would be nice and so would being forever young. I wouldn't want to outlive my children/husband, and then keep on living without any family. That sounds really lonely. I'd rather live eternally with my family in heaven. :)

    ReplyDelete
  175. Vampire - no, I think it would become tedious.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I wouldn't become a vampire as I couldn't handle all the blood... And I wouldn't want to outlive all my family.

    ReplyDelete
  177. No vampire for me, I like my personal space!

    ReplyDelete
  178. Team Switzerland for me because I have neve seen a Twilight movie!

    ReplyDelete
  179. I am on Team Jacob. My husband is also on Team Jacob, which makes me tease him, a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  180. I don't think I'd want to be a vampire, if given the opportunity. But I sure love the books! And the fabric in your give-away is really great!

    ReplyDelete
  181. If the opportunity presented itself, would you choose to become a vampire? Why or why not?

I gotta' say no, religious reasons being the first answer as to why not. And, as intriguing as it sounds to live forever and to be forever young and beautiful, I think all the allure comes from the made up hype of Hollywood types and a vampire's world woul not be as pretty as we think it is. It's like being in the mob. Everyone thinks it's flash and cash but in reality, 95% of the mobsters don't live that lifestyle, just a day to day existence that is full of turmoil and strife, and looking over their shoulder.

Now, as for the fabric you are giving away. TOO AWESOME! So thanks for the great giveaway, and thanks for giving us something to actually think about!

  182. Team Switzerland. I have not read the Twilight series, nor seen the movies. The only book of Stephenie's I've read is The Host, and I couldn't get past that. If I had read Twilight prior to The Host I probably might have been interested. Maybe one day...
