First of all, thank you to everyone that so graciously played along with my silliness. I loved that so many of you replied in all seriousness and so many tongue-in-cheek. Twilight is certainly one of my means of escape and I love sharing my enjoyment of the series with other people.
I though I should answer my own questions.
Would I choose to be a vampire? I would, but with some caveats attached. I would if I could be a Stephenie Meyer vampire because I would want to be awake in the daytime and not worry about the sun burning me up. I'd definitely be a "vegetarian vampire" in that world, too, as the idea of drinking another person's blood even if it didn't kill them would be a deal breaker for me. I would hope that I would be a vampire with some special vampire power, also, but if I didn't, I would totally take advantage of never having to sleep and super speed to be as crafty as possible.
Team? I'm Team Edward. I think Melissa Rosenberg, screenwriter for all of the movies, did a good thing in Eclipse, the movie, with Bella's speech definitively explaining her reasons for becoming a vampire and not just because of her undying love for Edward. A lot of people don't like the speech and I was one of those people....when I first saw it. I changed my mind, though!
This wasn’t a choice between you and Jacob—it was a choice between who I should be and who I am. I’ve always felt out of step—like, literally stumbling through my life—I’ve never felt normal, because I’m not normal. I don’t want to be. I’ve had to face death, and loss, and pain in your world but I’ve also never felt stronger—like, more real; more myself—because it’s my world, too. It’s where I belong. Now on to the winners....
